Built for speed you can rely on.
We provision enough capacity to keep your connection fast when it matters most, including the busy evening hours, and we're transparent about the speeds you can expect.
What to expect at 7pm to 11pm
We publish typical busy-period speeds so you know what your plan delivers when the whole household, and the whole street, is online. These are guidance figures; your line is confirmed after connection.
| Plan | Plan speed (down/up) | Typical evening speed |
|---|---|---|
| Seniors Essentials | 25 / 10 Mbps | 24 Mbps |
| Essentials | 25 / 10 Mbps | 24 Mbps |
| Everyday | 50 / 20 Mbps | 48 Mbps |
| Family | 100 / 20 Mbps | 97 Mbps |
| Superfast | 500 / 50 Mbps | Up to 500 Mbps |
| Ultrafast | 1000 / 100 Mbps | Up to 1000 Mbps |
| Wireless Essentials | 25 / 5 Mbps | 24 Mbps |
| Wireless Plus | 100 / 20 Mbps | 66 Mbps |
| Wireless Home Fast | 250 / 20 Mbps | Up to 250 Mbps |
Typical Evening Speed is the download and upload you can expect during the busy 7pm to 11pm period, based on real customer results. Maximum Speed Potential is the fastest a capable line (FTTP or select HFC) can reach; we show it for the newest high-speed tiers until we have enough evening data to publish a typical figure. Either way, your line's speed is confirmed after connection.

Test your speedCapacity, monitoring, and honesty
Capacity that scales
We monitor demand and add network capacity (CVC) ahead of need, so speeds hold up as more people connect.
Proactive monitoring
We watch the network around the clock and work with nbn and OptiComm to resolve faults quickly, often before you notice.
Honest about your line
On FTTN, FTTB and FTTC we confirm your line's real speed after connection, and you can change tiers without penalty.
What affects the speed you actually see
The speed at your device depends on more than the plan. A few things make a real difference.
Fibre vs copper
Full-fibre (FTTP and OptiComm) runs on glass the whole way to your home, so it can carry the full plan speed. Copper-based types (FTTN, FTTB, FTTC) use copper for the last stretch, and copper loses speed the longer and older that line is.
Your Wi-Fi and modem
Old hardware, weak signal and distance from the modem all cost speed. A modern Wi-Fi 6/7 modem or mesh helps every room keep up.
Your home setup
Lots of devices at once, wired vs wireless, and even the time of day all affect what you measure. Test over a cable for the truest result.
The right modem or mesh can be the difference between paying for speed and actually getting it. See our hardware and BYO options.
