Coast Broadband
Upgrade to Fibre

Upgrade to nbn full fibre with Coast Broadband.

Full fibre (Fibre to the Premises) runs a dedicated fibre line all the way to your home, for faster, more consistent internet built for a house full of connected devices. Selected homes and businesses on FTTN and FTTC can now upgrade, and your connection still helps fund your local surf club.

Why full fibre

What you get with FTTP

A complete fibre network from the exchange to your home, so more of your speed reaches your devices.

Faster, more reliable

Full fibre unlocks higher wholesale speed tiers, ideal for streaming, gaming and big downloads across many devices at once.

Consistent performance

As an end-to-end fibre connection, FTTP delivers steadier speeds with fewer interruptions, great for video calls and cloud uploads.

Lower latency

Fibre means faster response times and less lag, which you'll notice most on online games and video calls.

Good to know

Common questions

Am I eligible to upgrade to full fibre?

Selected homes and businesses on Fibre to the Node (FTTN) or Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) can upgrade to Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) when they order an eligible higher-speed plan. Enter your address and we'll check whether your place qualifies.

How much does the fibre upgrade cost?

Under nbn's full fibre program there's no nbn build cost to run fibre to your home when you order an eligible plan. You pay your normal monthly plan price. If any non-standard installation work is needed, we'll quote it before it goes ahead.

What happens during the upgrade?

An nbn approved technician runs a new fibre line to your property and installs a fibre connection box inside. It usually takes one or more visits. We arrange the appointment with you and keep you updated throughout.

Do I need a new modem?

FTTP connects over an Ethernet port on the new fibre connection box, so most modern routers work. If you're on a Coast Broadband supplied modem, we'll confirm it's ready for fibre before your appointment.

Is it permanent?

Yes. Once your home is upgraded to FTTP, it stays on full fibre. The copper part of your old connection is retired.

Full fibre upgrades and eligibility are provided under nbn's program terms. You can read nbn's details at nbn full fibre upgrades.
