Our story

Founded, owned and operated by a surf lifesaving family

As parents whose kids grew up in surf lifesaving, from their first days as nippers to competing and patrolling our beaches, we've seen the impact surf clubs have. They don't just keep our coastlines safe; they teach resilience, build confidence, create lifelong friendships, and a sense of belonging that ripples through whole communities.

That's why Coast Broadband exists. Our mission is simple: deliver fast, reliable internet while directly supporting the surf clubs and the lifesaving movement that means so much to Australians. Since 1907, surf lifesavers have rescued more than 715,000 people, but our clubs can't run on passion alone.

They survive on fundraising, donations and grants, with every dollar going back into training, equipment and saving lives. Common questions

Does supporting a surf club cost me more?

No. The $50 upfront and $5 per month contribution is funded by Coast Broadband, not added to your bill. You pay your plan price, and the give-back comes from us.

Do I have to be a surf club member to sign up?

No. Anyone within our coverage area can connect and nominate a club to support. You don't need to be a member, and the club still benefits.

Is there a lock-in contract?

No. All plans are month-to-month with no lock-in and free standard connection. You can change or leave at any time.

Which networks do you use?

We provide internet over the nbn® and OptiComm networks, the same infrastructure the major providers use. Enter your address to see what's available where you live.

How much goes to my club, and how often?

For each customer who nominates a club, we contribute $50 when the service connects, then $5 every month for as long as you stay connected.

Can I switch from my current provider easily?

Yes. We help manage the changeover from another provider so you're up and running with minimal downtime. You can also bring your own compatible modem or buy a supported one from us.
