Moving home

Taking Coast Broadband with you? Here's how to relocate your service, what to check at the new place, and how far ahead to let us know.

Moving house doesn't mean changing provider. In most cases we can move your Coast Broadband service to your new address, and you keep supporting your surf club along the way.

1. Check the new address

First, make sure we can connect you there. Pop the new address into our address checker, it tells you in seconds what's available and on which network. Your connection type (and therefore your plan options) may differ at the new place.

2. Give us a little notice

Let us know as early as you can, ideally a couple of weeks before you move. That gives time to arrange any new connection or nbn®/OptiComm appointment so you're online when you arrive. Start the move by logging in to My Account or calling 1300 899 174.

3. What to expect

  • If the new address uses the same technology, the move is usually straightforward.
  • If it's a different technology, your plan or equipment may change, we'll explain any difference before anything happens.
  • Some connection types need a technician appointment, we'll book that with you.
  • Take your modem and cables with you. If the new address uses the same technology it'll work there (you may just need to recheck the cabling). If the technology is different, you may need a different modem, and we'll sort that out with you before you move.
No lock-in. There's no fixed contract, so moving never triggers an exit fee. If your new plan differs, we'll confirm the details with you first.

Before you leave the old place

  • Don't cancel your service, relocating keeps your account and history intact.
  • Pack your modem, power supply and cables.
